Coffee fanatics in Nottingham will be all too familiar with the delicious aromas and smooth coffees of 200° Degrees Coffee Shop, an always busy and bustling cafe just off Old Market Square. Serving delicious coffee, roasted at 200°, in their relaxed and trendy coffee shop on Flying Horse Walk, it's fair to say that their hip - but unpretentious - take on artisan coffee has taken Nottingham by storm. So coffee-nuts will be delighted to know that 200° are well on their way to opening up a brand new cafe! In fact, it will open its doors in just two weeks' time. With the clock ticking, Experience Nottinghamshire was invited behind the scenes to take a look at the new cafe's progress, and to find out what we can expect. sdrsdrdavdav As you can see from the photos, there's still plenty of work to be done before the opening date, but the cafe is coming along rapidly, and the plans are exciting to say the least. Sticking closely to the formula that's made the first cafe so successful - if it ain't broke why fix it - they will, however, be making a couple of tweaks to their offering, in order to better cater to time-scarce commuters and travellers on their way to and from the railway station. While the city centre cafe is ideal for meeting a friend, or sipping while relaxing with a book, the new 200° will have a greater focus on serving takeaway coffees quickly and efficiently. There will be a special area at the front of the cafe with single seats, designed for those who want to sup swiftly, before grabbing their train. These seats will have a prime view of the canal, and offer fantastic people-watching opportunities, as crowds flood to and from the station. Don't worry if you're not in a hurry, though. There will be plenty of plush seating stretching along the middle section, and a comfy, spacious area for those who want to bunker down for an afternoon of coffee, cake and conversations. With big hitters like Starbucks and Costa for neighbours, 200° will be hoping that passersby choose to go local for their caffeine fix. The cafe's also set to open nice and early - so London-bound travellers will be able to get their early mornings off to the best possible start. While the delicious, freshly-roasted, coffee may be the main selling point of this fantastic Notts success story, don't overlook the tempting sandwiches, which include options like roast chicken with gherkins, rocket, applewood smoked cheddar, tomato and smoked paprika mayonnaise. There's more good news on this front - just like the city centre cafe, the new one will have a dedicated kitchen area, so you'll be able to pop a delicious 200° cob in your bag on the way to work in the morning, knowing it's been freshly prepared. 200-01 200° already supply their hand-roasted coffee to plenty of cafes around the county, and offer barista training courses to help you brew the perfect coffee in your own home, but they'll soon be expanding their reach even further, with a new cafe in Birmingham being the next project in their burgeoning coffee empire. So, coffee fans rejoice! From the 22nd of June, the tempting smell of locally roasted, ethical coffee will be one of the first thing that welcomes you back into Nottingham as you step off the train.
