Mayhem Film Festival

With premieres, previews, special guests and midnight screenings the festival has a reputation as one of the strongest genre film festivals in the UK. Diwali Celebrations

diwali Old Market Square Friday 13th October 6pm - 8.3.30pm Saturday 14th October Midday - 4pm  Diwali celebrations take over the Market Square this weekend. This festival of light marks the triumph of good over evil and will feature a feast for the senses with dancing, music, Rangoli art, workshops and a 3 metre high mechanical elephant!


Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival

The Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival is back! Organised by Nottingham CAMRA, huge variety of flavours will be ready for tasting, with breweries from all over the UK coming together to present a whopping 1000 ales and 200 ciders! Line your stomach at one of the delicious street food stalls dotted around the Castle grounds and check out the live music in the bandstand. A weekend not to be missed for any lover of ale, beer and cider!

A delight for aviation collectors, this weekend their aeroboot jumble sale will include books, paintings, prints, DVDs, plastic kits, die-cast models, clothing, radio equipment and aircraft parts.


Meet the Ghosts of Newstead Abbey

This 800 year old abbey, once the home of ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’ poet Lord Byron, is supposedly one of Nottingham’s most haunted buildings, if not one of its most beautiful. A fantastic opportunity to hear the music of Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra resound in the fabulous Thoresby Riding Hall. A great chance for a wander through Thoresby Courtyard to check out the artisan shops and beautiful grounds!
