Now a regular feature of the Nottingham events calendar, The Festival of Science and Curiosity is a fantastic city-wide event which promises to delight anyone from 8 to 80. Highlights include the Explorers Fair at Broadway Cinema on Saturday 17th which brings together some of the UK's most talented techies, artists and scientists, Jurassic Diets & Sleeping Giants at Wollaton Hall, and lots more throughout the city! Snowdrops
Various Dates & Venues Throughout Spring
Yes, we mentioned snowdrops last week, but it really is worth taking yourself out to one of the sites currently blanketed in these dainty but hardy little flowers – plus, there’s much more to see this weekend! Over at Hodsock Priory you can catch enthralling performances of The Snowdrop Queen, which features aerial acrobats performed high in the trees, along with fire and light shows. (More details here). In the south of the county, visit Holme Pierrepont Hall on Sunday, to explore Portraits & Progress. Marking the centenary of the women’s vote, this exhibition features paintings by suffragette Georgina Brackenbury, who lived at the house in the first half of the twentieth century.
Hairspray
Theatre Royal Nottingham | Tuesday 13 - Saturday 24 February 2018
Love a bit of 1960s nostalgia? Whether is big hair and feel-good hits, or moody mods and rebellious rockers, there are a couple of events this weekend to get down to. The loveable Tracey Turnblad makes being a teenager a not-so-distant memory in the stage extravaganza Hairspray, which features feel-good hits, lots of dancing, and inspiring political messages about racial integration. Quadrophenia Night
The Maze | Friday 16th February
