International Market & Egg Hunt
Thursday 29 March - Monday 2 April | Old Market Square
The largest pedestrianised square in the UK and home to some fantastic pop-up events, Nottingham’s Old Market Square is truly at the heart of the city. This weekend, enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of a bustling international market, with vendors selling an array of food, drink, gifts, crafts and more. Relax with a German beer in the Bavarian Street Bar, sample some small batch delicacies from around the world, and put your money in the pocket of independent traders and local businesses.
You can also bring the kids along safe in the knowledge they won’t be bored. Among the stalls there will be hidden eggs to seek out, with Bunji the Bunny ready to provide chocolate prizes for lucky winners!

Booklovers Walk
Sunday 1 April | 10.30am | Nottingham Tourism Centre
Are you a bibliophile who loves a spot of history? Join Gold Star Guide’s Felicity Whittle on a leisurely two-hour walk around the city celebrating Nottingham’s prestigious literary roots. An impressive number of writers and poets have called Nottingham home over the past 200 years, leading to the UNESCO City of Literature status in 2016. From the ‘mad, bad, and dangerous to know’ Romantic poet Lord Byron and the radical writings of D.H. Lawrence in the 20th century, to later authors such as crime-novelist John Harvey, you’ll come away inspired to delve further into the city’s fantastic literary roots.

100th Anniversary of RAF Open Cockpits Day
Sunday 1 April 2018 | 10am - 5pm | Newark Air Museum
For the past 45 years this site in Newark has amassed and lovingly looked after retired RAF aircrafts, preserving the country’s aviation heritage. This weekend, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force (RAF) many of the cockpits will be open to view and explore, along with a variety of visiting displays at the museum also. A great chance to look more closely at these treasured flying machines and meet others who enjoy aviation history and artefacts.

Steaming, Submarines & Spring Craft Fair
Sunday 1 & Monday 2 April | 11am-5pm | Papplewick Pumping Station
There’s lots to do and see this weekend at this spectacular site just outside the market town of Hucknall. In the magnificent pumping room, the great Victorian engines will be in steam, giving a great opportunity to glimpse how our water system worked during the 19th century. If you’re feeling brave, you can also take a tour of the underground reservoir! Back up on the ground there will be a craft and gardening fair taking place on the lawns, along with a display of miniature submarines, making for a varied day out with something for everyone to enjoy.
