Over the coming week tennis fans will be flocking to Nottingham Tennis Centre to see some of the top tennis stars from around the world compete ahead of Wimbledon in the Nature Valley Open, including British stars Johanna Konta and Heather Watson returning to Nottingham turf. Newark Festival 2018



Riverside Park, Newark | Friday 15 - Sunday 17 June 2018

Yet another brilliant festival comes to Nottinghamshire this weekend, this time taking place in the historic town of Newark against the backdrop of its striking castle ruins. Three very different days of entertainment are on offer, with a few tickets still available for each.

On Friday, Riverside Rocks brings some of the UK’s best tribute acts, including Magic Queen, The Rollin’ Clones, The Ultimate Stone Roses, and Who’s Next. Saturday sees stars from the 80s bringing a retro vibe to the stage with the likes of Kim Wilde, Go West, Nick Heyward, Limahl and The Fizz, headlined by Wet Wet Wet’s Marti Pellow. Bring along the kids on Sunday for a Family Fun Day, topped off with a fantastic fireworks spectacular!

The Woolly Tellers Present… 'Definitely Not Respectable’

A night of songs and stories all in aid of charity, brought to you by local raconteurs The Woolly Tellers.

Nottingham’s Malt Cross music hall is without a doubt one of the most extraordinary buildings in the city. Built in 1877, it is one of the only surviving music halls in the country, and some of the world’s most famous music hall stars graced its stage back the day. With a knack for spinning a good yarn, the Woolly Tellers will capture your imagination with cheeky tales of the music hall, bringing the atmosphere of Victorian Nottingham to life.

We’ve been graced with some beautiful weather of late, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will continue for the upcoming season of brilliant outdoor film and theatre. See classic stories from the likes of Austen, Shakespeare and more performed against the backdrop of some of Nottinghamshire’s best historic houses and country parks, including Wollaton Park, Newstead Abbey, and Creswell Crags.

This weekend Thoresby Park kicks off the season with a musical sci-fi adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest on Sunday 17th June. A perfect idea for a Father’s Day treat; grab a picnic and a blanket and let the entertainment unfold.
