Just like clockwork, another weekend rolls round, packed as ever with great events and things to do in Nottinghamshire. We’ve picked out some of our favourites, from live music to crafty workshops, so have a look below for some great ideas for a top weekend, or browse on our What’s On pages and Things to Do section for lots more.
Forest Live
Sherwood Pines | Friday 22 – Sunday 24 June
Who could say no to a balmy evening of world class music held under the canopy of Sherwood Forest? Yes, Forest Live is back, this year with three gigs taking place over the weekend. On Friday catch alt-folk musician Billy Bragg take the stage, before headliners Jacqui Abbott and Paul Heaton perform hits from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins. On Sunday, Ali, Astro and Mickey of UB40 bring their classic chilled reggae to the stage for the last night of magical music under the stars. Saturday’s Gary Barlow gig has already sold out, but tickets are still available for the rest.

Earth & Fire International Ceramic Fair 2018
Harley Gallery | Friday 22 - Sunday 24 June 2018
One of the country’s premier ceramic events, Earth & Fire attracts collectors, gallery owners, alongside enthusiasts of pottery and sculpture from around the country. But even if it’s not your specialist field, this is an excellent chance to browse and buy some beautiful items including, mugs, teapots, eggcups and more. There’s much more to do at the prestigious Welbeck Estate; browse The Harley Gallery’s current exhibitions Half in Shadow, Half in Light and Loud & Clear, pick up some gorgeous local produce at The Welbeck Farm Shop, and if you have time you can even take a short walk to the fascinating Creswell Crags.

Murder Mystery Night
National Justice Museum | Saturday 23 June 2018 | 7.30pm
As a courtroom and gaol since the Middle Ages, the National Justice Museum has over 800 years of history held within its walls, making it a most fascinating, if slightly eerie, place to spend an evening. This Saturday, they invite you to investigate a murder. Beginning in the grand courtroom, you’ll then be sent to roam the cells in the murky depths of the prison to interrogate witnesses, before enjoying a two-course meal and discovering whodunnit.

White Post Farm 30th Birthday Weekend
White Post Farm Centre | Saturday 23 - Sunday 24 June 2018 I 10am - 6pm
Home to llamas, deer, donkeys, ducks, tarantulas, geckos, chinchillas, bats, and all your regular farmyard favourites, White Post Farm is always a hit for a day out with the family. This weekend, to celebrate an amazing 30 years of caring for these cute critters there’s lots of free range fun happening around the farm, including live music, the famed Sheep Show, take-home festival crafts, falconry, archery, face painting, yummy food and much more. Various Venues
If you’re in the mood to learn a new skill, there are a great selection of workshops coming up this weekend. At Debbie Bryan Studio you can Make Your Own Vintage Summer Necklace & Earrings on Friday 22 June, while Focus Gallery is holding a Textured Jewellery Workshop on Saturday 23. Over at The Welbeck Estate’s School of Artisan Food you can take a two day Introduction to Sourdough Baking course to learn the art of this ancient, artisan process. Sunday at Green’s Windmill sees a Felting Workshop taking place, during which you can make a beautiful felt vessel or keepsake holder. Finally, over at Worksop Library on Saturday, design your own Poetric Myriorama, a process where a poem can be arranged again and again in endless combinations.
