Walking Tours
Perhaps the best way to get to know a city is from the locals themselves. With a variety of tours to choose from, each has been constructed by someone with a passion for telling Nottingham’s story, each with their own personal twist.
Join Hello Notts on Saturday afternoon for an introduction to Nottingham’s history, culture, famous people and places, or take the Robin Hood Town Tour, to hear the city’s history from the viewpoint of our legendary outlaw. A new tour to the city is the Nutty Nottingham Comedy Tour, which is sure to give you some laughs on a Saturday evening, or for a more supernatural take on the city’s history, check out the Nottingham Ghost Walk on Saturday evening. The Nottingham Booklover’s Walk celebrates the stories of our famous writers on Sunday morning, while Madame Parboiled will take you through several hundred years of drinking in Nottingham with her Historical Pub Tour on Sunday evening.

Nottingham Castle - Free week before closure
Nottingham Castle | 25th June - 1st July 2018 | 10 - 5pm
You may have heard that our dear Nottingham Castle is about to undergo a makeover, and while we’re sad to say farewell for two years, we’re certain that the grand transformation will bring a whole new breath of life into this historic site.
In the week running up to the closure there will be lots going on at the castle, and we suggest taking a visit to wander the grounds and take in the marvellous views one last time. Between 25th June to 1st July you can enjoy an exciting programme of free events and activities, including archery, falconry, curator talks, a Lego castle build, and more. You're also invited to contribute ideas to a time capsule marking this significant point in the Castle's history!

Robin Hood & His Merry Men - Outdoor Theatre
Bolsover Castle | Saturday 30th June 2018 | 7.30pm
We’re lucky enough to have one of the world’s best loved tales set in our fair county, so of course we had to include this spectacular show on our top picks this weekend.
Grab a picnic, sit back and relax as our noble outlaw and his Merry Men fight against the Sheriff of Nottingham and try to restore peace to Sherwood Forest. Brought to life with traditional sword play, song, music, dance and stunning medieval costumes, this splendid tale will be performed against the magnificent backdrop of Bolsover Castle. Ten points for arriving early to have a good wander around this stunning 17th century fort.
