Another weekend passed and another on the horizon. There are some fantastic events happening in Nottingham this weekend and we've rounded up some of our favourites below so you can get planning some wonderful things to do. Grab a blanket and check out some excellent outdoor theatre at heritage sites across the county, or pick up a map at Nottingham Tourism Centre and roam the city to hunt down robins for Hoodwinked 2018.

Two exhibitions open at Nottingham Contemporary this weekend, with an exciting launch party on Friday which promises live music, an exclusive first look at the exhibitions and a free cocktail for the first 400 guests.
Pia Camil: Split Wall is the first solo exhibition in the UK from Mexican artist Pia Camil. With playful shapes and vibrant colours, Camil uses textiles, film and ceramics to explore concepts of globalisation, consumerism and public image. In The Log-O-rithmic Slide Rule - the first UK retrospective of Swiss architects and designers Trix & Robert Haussmann - key pieces of product design, installation, furniture and textiles from the pair’s 50-year career will be on show, demonstrating their diverse and innovative style and 1960s influences.

A brand new tour from the man himself! Join Robin Hood for a whistle-stop tour of Nottingham's modern day culture and attractions - perfect for those with limited time who want to get a taste of this dynamic modern city. Lead by the award-winning Ezekial Bone of the Robin Hood Town Tour, this 90 minute walk will take you to the city's must-see destinations, while providing recommendations from a local with true passion for Nottingham's fascinating heritage and culture.

National Water Sports Centre | Saturday 14 July 2018 | 10am - 1pm | £15 adult | £10 children aged 6-12
With all the hot weather we’ve been having, Muddy Mayhem at the National Water Sports Centre looks like a rather refreshing day out! Raising money for the British Legion, the race features mud slides, monkey bars, balance beams and other amazing obstacles to tackle as you and your team undertake the two-mile course. Once you’ve completed the challenge you can enjoy music, food and more exciting activities at the finish line.

The divine Belvoir Castle open their grounds this weekend for their annual flower show which is sure to be a stunning and inspiring display of floral delights. Enjoy a host of live music and food, along with various zones to explore, including show gardens, an educational area, companies, schools & gardening societies showcasing their services & products, and a craft and floral marquee.

We may be in the centre of the country, but this weekend The Old Market Square is taking on its fabulous annual transformation, bringing all the sun of the seaside to Nottingham. Pick yourself a deckchair, treat yourself to a lovely cool drink, dip your toes in the sand and have a go on one of the classic funfair rides. Whether you’re stopping by for a mid-shopping break, bringing the kids along for a day out or just passing by, this salubrious summery scene in sure to bring a smile to your face.

Up in the north of the county, Patchings Art Centre is an established hub of creativity with an art shop, workshops, café, galleries and beautiful grounds. This weekend go along to soak up some creative inspiration as they celebrate their Festival of Art, Craft and Photography. A great chance to meet over 250 artists, photographers, craft makers and designers, get stuck into a workshop, pick up some beautiful artisan wares, treat yourself to some new art materials, or admire the exhibitions at this delightful four day event.
