Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Take a trip down the rabbit hole with Chapterhouse Theatre Company this summer as they present the classic tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at the enchanting location of Creswell Crags. Presented in beautiful Victorian costume and alive with song, dance and original music, join Alice as she stumbles into the magical world of Wonderland. With a whole host of colourful characters, from the unforgettable White Rabbit and the madcap Mad Hatter to the terrifying Queen of Hearts, Alice’s journey couldn’t be filled with more adventure.

1940s Weekend Newark Air Museum
Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 August | Newark Air Museum

Newark Air Museum is getting into the 40s spirit this weekend as it presents two days of nostalgic celebrations. Set against the backdrop of their fantastic range of vintage aircrafts, alongside the famous Anderson Shelter and Dig for Victory Garden, there will be a host of 1940s related activities and entertainment taking place around the museum site. Enjoy re-enactments, military displays, wartime trade stalls, plus regular performances by Fiona Harrison, “A Voice in a Million”. Don’t forget to attend in period costume and register in advance for free entry, or at a discounted admission rate on the door!

Party down by the river Trent this weekend as the Nottingham Carnival returns for a vibrant day of showstopping carnival carousing! The community led carnival organisers have been busy creating a brilliant show of colourful costumes and curating fabulous performances from the city’s samba bands, dance troupes, circus acts and more. The parade begins at 2pm, after which you can shimmy along to the ever popular Carnival Village to enjoy international food, music stages, workshops, stalls and funfair rides.
