Nature Valley Open

Tennis season is here and the Nature Valley Open is gearing up for a week of explosive on court action! A mix of tennis champs from across the world are set to compete and there’s only one way to experience the atmosphere and excitement of the match, and that’s to be there! Tickets start at just £5 so snap them up now!

The opening weekend sees the return of the exciting Family Fun Day, so there’ll be loads of things to see and do aside from the action on court. Try your hand at tennis and host of other sports, including cricket, netball and adventure golf, or get active in the inflatable zone. Keep your eyes peeled for superheroes Catboy, Gekko and Owlette, AKA PJ Masks who will be enjoying the fun. Kids go free, and even get to take home their own superhero gift if they complete all the fun activities. 


Nottingham Craft Beer Week

If gallivanting through the city with friends while trying out the world of beers that Nottingham has to offer is more of your thing, then get down to Craft Beer Week from Saturday! There’s loads of great events, takeovers, tastings and talks to check out at bars and bottle shops around the city, including Bunkers HillCanalhouseCock and HoopCrafty CrowEmbankmentFox and GrapesKean’s HeadLincolnshire PoacherPoppy and PintSouthbank CityStratford Haven , Yarn and more.

As well as the chance to sample some very fine tipples, you can pick up a free, personalised memento in the form of a Beer Mat Doodle. A host of Nottingham’s talented artists and illustrators will be scrawling and scribbling all over the city. If you spot one, say hello and they’ll provide you with your own portrait on a beer mat.

Highlights this weekend include a free exhibition featuring the work of three craft beer-related artists at Malt Cross, and a one-off chance to meet Blue Monkey Brewery’s head brewer for a chat about the ins and outs of making beer, and the opportunity to sample their new gin range, at The Organ Grinder from 12.30pm on Saturday. Don’t miss the chance to catch Nottingham’s amazing, female-fronted David Bowie tribute band, Miss Bowie at the The Lion at Basford from 8.30pm on Saturday night. Finally, on Sunday from 7pm The Trent Navigation’s weekly quiz will be getting a Craft Beer Week shake up, with loads of beer up for grabs for the lucky winners.

Hemlock Happening


Hemlock Happening - Visit Nottinghamshire
Bramcote Hills Park | Saturday 8 June | 1pm - 6pm

A fabulous, free day out for the family to enjoy, Hemlock Happening is a community festival, now in its 17th year. Expect a great display of local musical talent on the main stage to enjoy as you wander the stalls or get stuck in with the arts and crafts activities on offer. There’ll be rides and inflatables to keep little ones occupied and a licensed bar for the grownups, plus a variety of food vendors to keep everyone happy. Don’t forget to go and see the otherworldly Hemlock Stone, a 200-million-year-old rock pillar which rises 28 feet from the hillside.

Major Oak Woodland Festival

Major Oak Woodland Festival - Visit Nottinghamshire

Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve | Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 June | 11am - 4pm 

The most famous tree in Nottinghamshire, and quite possibly the UK, the Major Oak is thought to be between 800 and 1000 years old. This weekend the history of the great British woodland is celebrated at this small festival in the heart of Sherwood Forest. See traditional woodland skills in action and learn about the modern techniques for managing the forest, meet bodgers, furniture makers, toy makers, willow weavers and other traditional craft demonstrators and much more!

Summer in Thrumpton - Visit Nottinghamshire

Thrumpton Village | Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 June 2019 I 12 Noon - 5pm  

This weekend is the perfect opportunity to spend some time in the pretty village of Thrumpton, as they get together to celebrate the arrival of summer. Expect open gardens to explore, flower arrangements to marvel over in All Saints Church, craft, book and plants stalls to wander around and delicious refreshments in the village hall. On Sunday, visitors can enjoy a stroll around the beautiful gardens of Thrumpton Hall.
