Krampus at the Crags
Krampus at the Crags

Saturday December 21 2019 | 4pm - 9.30pm | Creswell Crags | Tickets £15

The last few tickets remain for Creswell Crags exploration of the folklore surrounding the European tradition of Krampus – St Nicholas’ slightly more sinister counterpart who’s role involves punishing those on the naughty list. After an introduction to the history of this intriguing Christmas character and the many folklore connections to the crags you’ll get to explore the cave with the largest known collection of apotropaic ‘Witch Marks’, which were thought to ward off evil. Weather permitting there will be a solstice gathering around the fire to mark the shortest day of the year, with roast chestnuts, mulled apple juice and music to set the festive scene.

Festive Foam party at the Nationa Ice Centre | Visit Nottinhamshire
Winter Family Fun Weekend at the National Ice Centre

Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 December | National Ice Centre

Get your skates on and get ready to glide on the ice surrounded by twinkling lights, a majestic tree and festive sounds. Whether you’re a budding Torvil / Dean, or more like a young Bambi taking their first steps on the ice, there’s loads of family fun to enjoy, including face painting, craft activities and a life size snow globe to have your photo taken inside. Don’t forget to book your slot to visit the jolly man in red at the only Santa’s Grotto in the city to pass on your wishes!

Three festive foam parties will create a wintery scene on the ice whilst you skate to your favourite yuletide tunes on Saturday. Kicking off with a family party with dedicated tots’ zone perfect for littles ones, following which the disco lights and foam cannons will be turned down to create a calmer and quieter scene, suitable for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The party will be in full swing from 7.30pm where the music and lights will be turned up high for a club night to finish things with a bang.

On Sunday afternoon Nottingham’s finest skating stars will be showing off their skills at The Magic of Christmas Ice Gala Show, featuring all figure skating disciplines including group routines, solo skaters, solo ice dancers, ice dance couples, paired skating couples and synchronised skating all in one spectacular show.
