From Friday 30 October Nottinghamshire enters the tier three “very high” category of the UK government’s three alert levels. There are various implications of the new restrictions and you can find full details of the new local restrictions in our Know Before You Go guide.
While people are advised to not travel to regions within tier three and likewise those in tier three should not travel to other regions, there are still plenty of events and things to do locals can enjoy this weekend in Nottinghamshire. We’ve updated this blog to include only outdoor and online events you can enjoy safely this weekend. We recommend checking with individual venues on their website / social media for updates and to check advance booking requirements before you travel. Please enjoy Nottingham and Nottinghamshire responsibly and take all precautions to keep yourself and others safe.
It’s the season of the supernatural and there’s a host of hauntingly good events and fearsome festivities across Nottinghamshire as we get into the Halloween spirit. If that isn’t your bag of tricks, never fear, there are some great events to enjoy with members of your household this weekend without a pumpkin or horrifying Halloween play-on-words in sight.
Wrap up warm and head to the atmospheric grounds of Wollaton Hall for an after-dark screening of a spooky film at the Halloween Outdoor Cinema, with the family-friendly favourites Ghostbusters and Hocus Pocus plus cult classics The Lost Boys and The Shining. For a spinetingling treat to enjoy at home, gather round to hear the master of spooky tales Mark Gatiss read some of his favourite ghost stories streamed live over zoom as part of Nottingham Playhouse Unlocked festival. If you’ve got little monsters to entertain why not enjoy an autumnal wander around the atmospheric Thoresby Park on their Pumpkin Trail, or keep them happy at home with some online Halloween activities from Lakeside Arts, where they can listen to Ghostly Tales or Make a Halloween Cat Door Hanger. |
