Proclaiming Christmas at Sherwood Forest

Usher in the festive week ahead with a day of performance and activities at Sherwood Forest.
The legend of Robin Hood will come to life as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Friar Tuck compete for your vote for the title of the Lord of Misrule. You can also enjoy some live music from the Dukeries Community Band and the Major Oak Pop Choir who will be performing at the Visitor Centre. This is the perfect chance to get the family out and about for an active day ahead of a Christmas stupor!

Ezekial Bone: Guts & Gore Tour

Join a ghost tour led by Nottingham ghost Mr Bone as he haunts the Lace Market, telling grisly tales of Guts & Gore. Stand where horrible history happened and hear true tales of murder, hanging, grave-robbing, misery and mayhem that took place amidst the finery and foulness of old Nottingham town. Hear how the infamous Lord Byron quenched his thirst for the macabre with a monk’s skull and tales of the dead being uprooted from their graves in St Mary’s churchyard. Tours take approximately 2 hours and end in the caves beneath The Angel pub and pre-booking is required.

Santa’s making a special stop to take part in one of his favourite Christmas activities… ice skating at the National Ice Centre! Join him for a magical skate among the twinkling lights and underneath the Christmas tree, with lots of festive fun guaranteed. And don’t forget, children aged 5 and under skate for free! The helpful staff will be on hand for any nervous skaters, alternatively you can use one of the festive pieces of ice equipment to help you glide along the ice.

Be an activist and create revolutionary protest posters with artist Ant Sacco at the National Justice Museum. Using words, lines and symbols you will create collage-based posters to inspire future change and imagine new worlds.
