The Ram Bar & Brasserie

The Ram dates back to the 15th century when a coaching inn opened on the site where the current 18th century, Georgian building now stands.

Offering the perfect place for people to meet and rest whilst enjoying great food and wine.

The Ram has since been restored to its former, elegant Georgian glory, in the heart of the historic town of Newark, close to Newark Castle.

The Food

The menu has been lovingly created by their Kitchen Team, sourcing the ingredients locally from bespoke suppliers and top quality producers. With a wide variety of mains, pizzas, tapas and desserts, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Sunday Roast

Every Sunday they serve a traditional Sunday Roast. Featuring award winning produce from Owen Taylor’s Butchers, locally sourced vegetables, and proper Yorkshire Puddings. Please book to avoid disappointment.

Variety is key for the drinks selection at The Ram. They have it all from lovingly cask conditioned real ales, craft beers, cocktails, premium lagers and ciders all complimented with a fantastic choice of wines. There are many draft products from award winning local brewery: Navigation Brewery on Meadow Lane in Nottingham.

Functions and Venue Hire

The Ballroom is the elegant function room at The Ram. It evokes all the splendour and grace of its Edwardian heritage with a modern, contemporary twist and was designed by award winning designers Jamie Hempsall.

The perfect venue for weddings, conveniently located opposite Newark Registry Office, The Gilstrap Centre.

The Ram can accommodate celebrations, formal gatherings and meetings for up to 100 guests, the room offers a spacious environment, private bar and views of the parish church spire through ample sash windows.

Alternatively, for smaller groups of up to 30 there is a private dining area on the ground floor with elegant decor, situated just off the main restaurant and with easy access to the bar and outside courtyard.
