About

Josephine’s Tea Room and Café is a classic vintage tea room located directly opposite the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. With stunning décor mixing elegance with a touch of flamboyance, Josephine’s is perfectly placed for pre-theatre, cinema or concert and a favourite destination tea room for locals, visitors and tourists.

Serving traditional afternoon tea featuring mini breadsticks while you wait is just the start of the experience. Relaxing music playing the likes of Dean Martin, Al Bowlly and Nat King Cole helps the stresses and strains just drift away. Find yourself gazing at the unique feature wall, a spectacular photo opportunity along with the also heavily photographed statue of Hebe and 3 metre high palm trees you could be in the heart of Mayfair.

Enjoy specially made extra wide tables whilst having a large pot of tea made with the finest tea leaves picked from world’s best tea estates. Not into tea, then coffee is provided by Nespresso so you can be sure of the quality. Josephine’s is also fully licensed with a range of quality beers and wines such as Chablis and Merlot.

At Josephine’s many items are made from scratch on the premises. Be that scones made to a traditional recipe or the extra moist carrot cake. It’s not just tea and cake at Josephine’s though, homemade soup and handmade all butter pies, ploughman’s, panini’s and a variety of homemade dishes of...Read More

It’s not just tea and cake at Josephine’s though, homemade soup and handmade all butter pies, ploughman’s, panini’s and a variety of homemade dishes of the day mean there is something for everyone.

Open daily from 10am for breakfast/brunch, Josephine’s is a great way to start the day. Try the 5 pancake stack with a pot of Assam before a day shopping. Come back later to wind down with Afternoon Tea or even just a cream tea, made with Rodda’s Clotted Cream. Whilst name dropping, the ham used comes from Duke’s Hill, who are suppliers to the Her Majesty the Queen, rotating between Yorkshire and Wiltshire, enjoy nothing but the best at Josephine’s.

Booking in advance is not required (even for afternoon tea) but can be done online via the website if required. It is even possible to pre-order your meal online in advance if your itinerary is tight.
