Blue Barn

About

A warm welcome from Blue Barn and the village of Fiskerton-cum-Morton.

Blue Barn is a recently converted deluxe holiday home located in the picturesque Trent Valley, the River Trent is just a 5 minute walk away with footpaths that run alongside for miles. The barn is located on a smallholding surrounded by farmland, in the quiet village of Fiskerton-cum-Morton, recently rated as one of the best places to live in 2018. Guests have use of a private garden and on-site parking. Dogs and horses are welcome too (please enquire regarding bringing horses as additional costs are associated).

Blue Barn is ideal for visiting a range of local and surrounding areas, whether that be by car, walking, horse riding, cycling, by train, boat, or bus! Fiskerton Train Station is situated in the village with trains to Newark, Lincoln, Nottingham, Derby and further afield. Courtesy lifts can be given to Fiskerton Train Station if reserved upon booking.

Spread across one floor, the Barn has an open ended shed perfect for muddy boots, bikes, pushchairs etc, a fully equipped country kitchen, master bedroom with king-size bed and shower en-suite, main bathroom with combined bath/shower, second bedroom with bunk beds and single sofa bed, and a cosy living area with a range of seating options including a wood burning stove. All rooms have been lovingly decorated to a high standard with a wildlife theme throughout. The bedrooms have electric radiators, and the living area, kitchen and main bathroom have underfloor heating. Please note there is a step-up into the entrance door.

High-quality bed linen, bath and hand towels, kitchen linen, wi-fi, handwash and kitchen amenities, tea/coffee, a small bottle of milk, orange juice, butter and a welcome snack are included in the price.

The local village has two lovely gastro-style pubs/restaurants (The Full Moon Inn is dog friendly in the bar area) and a village shop, and the local areas have an extensive range of places to eat and drink, including things to do etc – these can be found on the Blue Barn website and also within Blue Barn on the information wall, and within the welcome folder.

The historic market town of Southwell is just an 8 minute drive away which boasts the stunning Southwell Minster. Newark (the home of antiques) is a 15 minute drive away or 15 minutes on the train. Nottingham is a 25 minute drive away, or 20 minutes on the train, and Lincoln just a 40 minute drive, or 30 minutes on the train! The home of Robin Hood (Sherwood Forest) is just 30 minutes away, including Clumber and Rufford Park too.

A wildlife garden is viewable from the kitchen and living area windows which attracts a diverse range of bird species amongst other wildlife, and a flock of lovely poultry live on-site; guests may come and view the wildlife garden/meet the feathered flock by prior arrangement upon booking.
Blue Barn is a cosy, welcoming place which is perfect for long or short breaks to explore the local and surrounding areas.

Bookings can be made direct online via the website, telephoning Kate on 07792 815 021 or emailing kate@blue-barn.co.uk. A 50% deposit of the total stay cost is required upon booking, with the remaining balance due upon arrival, the remaining amount will be confirmed via email upon booking.
