Canbyfield Cottage

Canbyfield Cottage is located on a working farm in North Leicestershire close to Leicester (city centre 30 mins drive), Nottingham (city centre 35 mins) Loughborough (20mins) and Melton Mowbray (25 mins). We offer high quality, comfortable, self-catered accommodation for up to two guests.  The cottage is a perfect choice for a business trip, a relaxing weekend break, a stop over before or after a flight from East Midlands Airport or indeed for a longer stay to experience the tranquil farm location.

The cottage is a newly converted, traditional single storey brick barn with pan tile roof that is characteristic of a Wolds farmstead.  It's owners have endeavoured to preserve its rural origin retaining high, vaulted ceilings, cast iron wood burner stove, limestone flooring. The newly planted orchard contains traditional apple and plum trees alongside a selection of antique stone troughs and old farm implements. Guests are welcome to take a walk around the family farm and view the varied and abundant wildlife.

Inside the Cottage:

Inside the cottage, rooms are all on the ground floor, generously sized and decorated in a neutral palette creating a calm, relaxing ambience. All rooms have thermostatically controlled electric panel heaters, offering guests flexible temperature control for their own comfort.

The open plan kitchen includes, an induction hob, two electric ovens and grills, a microwave, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and an antique pine dining table and chairs. We provide a wide selection of kitchen and dining ware for our guest’s convenience.

In the cosy lounge area, there is a freestanding wood-burning stove, (logs supplied), a leather chesterfield two seated sofa with matching footstool and an antique wooden armchair, offering a choice of seating. A Flat Screen Smart TV, Blu Ray DVD player, CD player with Blue Tooth and free Wi-Fi are provided for our Guest’s entertainment, along with a selection of books and magazines.

The bedroom is accessed off the entrance lobby. It has a king size metal bedstead, goose down duvet, 200 thread count Egyptian Cotton bed linen, two fluffy Egyptian Cotton towels per guest, courtesy slippers, complimentary toiletries and a hair dryer. There is a large antique pine wardrobe, a pine chest of drawers, pine chest containing additional blankets, an ironing board, iron, two large mirrors, a wall mounted smart TV and a portable DAB radio.

Shower Room:

The shower room is separate to bedroom. There is a large shower cubicle with power shower, heated towel rail, traditional white sanitary fittings, with shaver point and over sink lighting.

The cottage has a private garden area to the front and side, where outdoor drying facilities are available. The large patio is south facing. It’s a great spot to enjoy breakfast, a barbeque, or to sit and enjoy the peaceful location. There is off street parking for up to two cars adjacent to the flag stone path a few steps from the front door.
