About

High Hazels stands at the heart of the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall estate and dates back to Bess of Hardwick times. It pre-dates the new hall and was formerly the estate's brewhouse, retaining sixteenth-century details. This spacious house is perfect for get togethers with family and friends, all will appreciate exploring this beautiful Estate.

The Cottage's Layout

Ground floor

Entrance hall leading to kitchen, sitting room with multi-fuel stove and sofa bed, dining room and fully adapted shower room.

First floor

Three bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 with 5' antique half tester mahogany bed and 1 with 5' antique brass bed, 1 twin), large bathroom with roll top bath, shower cubicle and lavatory and a second separate lavatory.

Other floor

Second floor: through landing with sofa leading to three bedrooms (1 single, 1 twin and 1 double bedroom with 5' bed).

Visitor Notes:

Heating: Oil central heating included.

Garden: There is an enclosed garden laid to lawn.

Parking: There is parking for 3 cars in the stable courtyard.

Accessibility: The access rating only applies if using sofa bed on ground floor.

Offers: Holiday Cottage guests have free access to Hardwick Hall, gardens and Stainsby Mill during opening hours. Outside of normal opening hours the gardens are accessible exclusively for Holiday Cottage guests.

For any three night booking starting on a Thursday, guests can benefit from a late departure time on the Sunday of 6pm, at no extra charge.

 

Catering: Pre-order meals:

To help your stay start in comfort and complete relaxation, the team at Hardwick Hall can provide a meal on arrival ready for you to pop In the oven. All you need to do is put your feet up and relax.

The delicious menu ranges from £4.50-£8.95 per person and is made with local produce.

The meal will be delivered to the cottage and left in the fridge ready for your arrival. We need a minimum of three working days notice.

We are happy to cater for private dinners a menu can be planned for your group. Menus and services required will be priced accordingly.
