Thornton’s Holt is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay in rural south east Nottingham. Just a few miles from the city centre, the scattered hamlet of Stragglethorpe is an ideal base from which to explore the City of Nottingham and our surrounding countryside.
The Annex is our comfortable and modern self contained holiday cottage. It sleeps four people, with one double and one twin bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen leads on to a cosy dining and lounge area, with TV, DVD player, and free WiFi. French doors from the lounge open out to a secure private garden. We provide bed linen and towels. A travel cot, high chair, or pop up bed for an additional child are available on request.
The Annex is uniquely located at the heart of our carefully landscaped Camping and Caravan Park. Whilst staying in the Annex you are welcome to use the Camping Park facilities. During the summer months we have a small shop on site, a children’s playground, and an indoor swimming pool (additional charge applies). The park is beautifully maintained with mature trees, gardens, fruit trees and open spaces for play and to explore.
Just across the road from Thornton’s Holt is The Shepherds Pub and Carvery. From here there is a regular bus service to Nottingham and West Bridgford, passing by Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and The Nottingham Forest City Ground. Close by, the local villages of Radcliffe on Trent and Cotgrave offer numerous local pubs, takeaways and shops.
Walkers and cyclists can explore the Cotgrave Country Park, the Grantham Canal, and the Holme Pierrepont Country Park which is part of the National Watersports Centre. These parks are connected by a local network of cycle and footpaths, which you can join outside our main entrance.
Online Booking for The Annex is available from the Website (please follow the link above).
The Annex holiday cottage is a modern two bedroom bungalow that comfortably accomodates four people. It is available for week stays, long weekends, and mid week stays throughout the year. Please see our website for further details. www.thorntons-holt.co.uk
