Welcome to Thornton's Holt Camping Park
A quiet family Camping Park, in the rural hamlet of Stragglethorpe, south east of Nottingham, close to Radcliffe-On-Trent and Cotgrave.
Thornton's Holt offers spacious pitches on level grassland, carefully lanscaped with mature trees, fruit orchards and gardens.
They have a friendly farm type atmosphere with cheeky free range hens wandering throughout the park, two resident horses Spike and Spartacus, their border terrier Pickle, and three cats who specialise in reception duties.
About Thornton's Holt Camping Park
Thornton's Holt accomodates tents, caravans and motorhomes on 155 spacious pitches on 14 acres of landscaped grassland.
There are 120 electric hook ups and our pitches are available as grass or double width hardstandings.
There are washroom facilities, an indoor heated swimming pool, a childrens play area, washing up areas, a laundry, ice blocks freezer, and a small shop on site. Free WIFI is also available in the reception area.
Most importantly they have plenty of fresh air and space for the children to run round - bikes are welcome.
Just over the road is The Shepherds Pub & Carvery, and also the bus stop with a frequent service to West Bridgford, Nottingham & Cotgrave. The local villages of Cotgrave and Radcliffe on Trent have a good selection of small supermarkets, bakeries, and takeaways of every description!

Your family pets are welcome to join you at Thornton's Holt. Please remember to keep your dog on a lead.
Thornton's Holt is home to a resident family of animals including our three cats Bobbles, Perkins & Sprocket, our fabulous terrier Pickle, the two horses Spike & Spartacus, and our mystery cat Ditch. There are usually too many chickens to count!
Local Walks & Cycling
Within walking distance is Cotgrave Country Park. This former colliery site has been extensively re-developed with good access tracks suitable for walking, cycling and pushchairs. It's a great place to tire out the children or for walking dogs. The Grantham Canal passes thorough the park and continues on into the Vale of Belvoir.
The National Watersports Centre is under a mile from Thornton's Holt. It host regular watersports events and is a good place for walking and cycling.
Note for cyclists: There are facilities to lock up bikes on request, please contact Thornton's Holt before arrival to enquire about availability. Alternatively, you can chain bicycles to a tree or fence next to your pitch.
