Welcome to Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre
Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre Ltd is steeped in history and nestles in the small village of Creswell, just off J30 of the M1 and easily accessible from Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. Set within 35 acres of land, there is a purpose built school, a wide range of lessons and fabulous hacking trekking for beginners to advanced riders and a mini cross country course.
Located at Bank House Farm, that was built in 1610, the property retains many of its ancient features. The surrounding areas are superb for hacking, with woodland trekking straight from the farm and a fantastic circular route through the archaeological beauty spot of Creswell Crags, which is a limestone gorge, honeycombed with caves and dates back to the Ice Age.
Set on a bridleway, the school offers treks for complete beginners through to advanced riders, ranging from half hour treks to three hour forest treks. Providing excellent tuition in an all weather surface outdoor sand school., all instructors are highly qualified and have a wealth of experience. They also offer combined lesson/trek packages and always put similar ability riders together.
Pony parties, hen party treks and combined trek and spa packages plus lots of disabled riding sessions are all available.
The school is also very unique in that they also like to stay true to the history of horses by offering side saddle lessons and carriage driving. You can either enjoy a pleasurable carriage ride or book a lesson to learn the skill of carriage driving for yourself.
It is encouraged for the horses to be cuddled and not treated with hand held treats. Between lessons they are taken back to their fields to play with their friends, so that they are happy as possible without becoming sour from constantly doing schooling work then being placed back into a stable.
Customer service is also paramount. They offer packages and training, but if they can be flexible the school will always try their very best to bespoke things to the clients’ requirements. Horses are matched to a client’s height, weight and ability. Firmly advocating that no-one should feel pushed beyond their comfort zone the school always ensures that they listen to what the client wants to achieve from their time around horses.
