WINNERS OF THE FARM SHOP OF THE YEAR AWARD 2018/2019 - Great Food Club Awards

Harker’s Farm Shop in Clipston-on-the-Wolds near Keyworth is among the best farm shops in the UK when it comes to butchery. It is a finalist in the prestigious FARMA Awards (Farmers’ Retail & Markets Association), one of just six farm shops nationally going through to the final round.

Harker’s Farm Shop.... A hidden gem, worth discovering with local produce on your doorstep...

Hidden away waiting to be discovered in the village of Clipston-On-The Wolds, only 8 miles South of Nottingham city centre. This local family farm shop is tucked away in the middle of their working farm. Blink and you could miss it. Extended and refurbished in recent years and offering a wide selection of meat, poultry & game (mostly reared on their farm). Rearing their own cattle which are free to graze on the pastures within the village (weather permitting). The naturally reared beef has all the benefits of organic beef but without the price tag. It is traceable from pasture to plate with the added benefit of very few food miles. Hung on the bone for up to 4 weeks producing mouth watering results.

Witness a fantastic array of individual cuts of meat, served by helpful and experienced butchers who will gladly give you advice and guidance. Their efforts to strive for the best were rewarded by becoming East Midlands finalists in Gary Rhodes Local Food Hero, nominated and voted for by customers alone.

They were recently awarded the status of ‘Approved Beef & Lamb Farm’ – Part of the Red Tractor Assurance Chain.
A fabulous range of homemade sausages are available handmade using traditional methods and recipes by the butchers.
They are renowned for rearing their own turkeys for the Christmas festivities.

Open Tuesday to Saturday they offer locally grown fruit and vegetables, Cropwell Bishop bread, fish and lots of delicious produce including Clipston & Hickling honey, jams, chutneys, Free range eggs, cakes and biscuits.

Taking the children to visit is a must with lots of farm animals to see and a tractor play area for the toddlers. Well worth a visit to witness how a family of traditional farmers have had to adapt and diversify in recent years and make the most of the wonderful produce on offer locally. Ample onsite parking available with wheel chair access.

If you have a passion for good quality & local food you will love Harker’s Farm Shop.
