Strays Bookshop

About

Stray’s Bookshop is the only remaining Independent Bookshop in the area.

They have a range of genres but in particular, have a wide variety of Children’s, History, Local Interest, Arts, Fiction and also stock unusual greetings cards and wrap. They also order books and can usually get books within a day. There is a WHSmiths and Works Bookshop in Newark, but if you’re looking for a ‘must-have’ they can get pretty much anything in print for you, if it’s not on their shelves.

Stray's Bookshop don’t try to compete on price alone as only internet bookshops seem to manage this, with low overheads and no personal interaction. They do, however aim to offer a personal service and their staff love books! Regular customers return time after time because Stray's make it easy for them.

Jazz on CD is also in stock and sold, in line with Stray's long-standing love of jazz music.

And if you’re out in town, after a browse, you can always nip through to the coffee bar, find a quiet corner and get started with your new book over a latte and teacake!
