Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update
All Nottingham City Council outdoor events scheduled between now and the end of May are being either cancelled or re-scheduled to a later date. 

This includes popular events such as Robin Hood Live (4 - 5 April), and The Magnificent Spiegeltent (29 April – 17 May)

BeatFeet Takeover in the Spiegeltent! 

BeatFeet is a Nottingham-based provider of global drumming and dance workshops, and this year we've invited them to take over the Spiegeltent with their high-energy workshops and performances! Choose from one or more of the workshops and travel to distant lands through discovering their rich music and dance…

Family Bhangra Dance 
11.30am - 12.15pm
Join Vijay for a lively Bhangra dance workshop for all the family. You'll be taken on a musical tour of The Punjab, as the explosive sounds of the dhol drum lead the iconic dance steps. Suitable for children from six years old. All fitness levels catered for.  Join in as much as you'd like, or simply take a break and enjoy the traditional dhol drumming. 

Family Frame Drumming 
12.30 - 1pm
Discover the ancient frame drum in this musical workshop for all the family. You'll quickly find your feet as Robina leads you through simple playing techniques and how to play together as a group. Frame drums have been used in many cultures for centuries, and their benefits for contributing to wellbeing are well documented. Join us to discover the joys of taking part in group drumming. Suitable for children from eight years old.       

Family West African Drumming 
1.15 - 2pm
Bring out your inner drummer in this family-friendly West African drumming workshop. Discover the iconic sounds of the djembe drum and learn how to play with others as part of a drumming 'troupe'. A highly energising workshop, full of beats to get you on your feet! Suitable for children from six years old. 

Family West African Dance
2.15 - 3pm
With live African percussion to accompany the dance steps, the whole family will be leaping around the room. Discover the enjoyment of moving our bodies to the uplifting sounds of djembe drums and crashing bass drums. You'll leave the dance floor feeling full of energy, having learned a simple dance sequence to infectious beats. This workshop is suitable for children from six years old. Steps can be modified for all fitness levels. Join us for a dance!
