Tickets £5.00
The astounding German recorder player Tabea Debus performs twelve contemporary responses to Georg Philipp Telemann's XII Fantasie per il Flauto alongside a selection of Telemann's brilliant originals. Startlingly different re-imaginings include pieces by Dani Howard, Alastair Penman, Misha Mullov-Abbado and Colin Matthews, all exploring the possibilities of the recorder in thrilling new ways.
Described by The Times as a charismatic virtuoso, Tabea studied at the Frankfurt University and at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Pamela Thorby. Recent awards include the CAG/Weinert Award for Innovation in Classical Music, the soloist prize at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and First prize at the Society of Recorder Players International Solo Recorder Competition.
This event follows an earlier concert with the BBC Philharmonic. For more details click here. Start time may vary depending on the finishing time of the earlier concert.
