About

Brewhouse Yard Cave Tour
Monday 8 April 2019 | 10am, 10:45am
Tickets: Free (Please book online)

Join City Archaeologist, Scott Lomax, on a short tour through caves at Brewhouse Yard. Hear stories of how parts of the caves were originally used to isolate plague victims, through to their later use as domestic cellars and Second World War air raid shelters. There will be opportunity for a few questions as Scott discusses these caves and gives a brief overview of Nottingham's 860 known caves.

In celebration of Nottingham’s 800 caves, #CaveCity invites you to explore this mysterious terrain which has lain beneath the city for hundreds of years. With tours, talks, activities and experiences throughout the city, including some of the city's lesser known cave locations, please visit the Cave City: Nottingham Underground Festival page for a full list of events, or check out the festival itinerary to plan your weekend

To follow all the subterranean happenings on social, use the tag #CaveCity!
