Friday 11 & Saturday 12 May 2018 | 10am - 5pm
Learn more about past excavations across Nottingham and the 800 caves beneath our feet.!
Formed in 1968, when Drury Hill was threatened by development, Nottingham Historical & Archaeological Society has excavated and documented a number of caves in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity to see objects found in the 1960s excavations of the Broadmarsh caves, along with photographs of the excavation.
If you have any cave stories to tell, please come and share them with the Nottingham Historical and Archaeological Society on the day.
Booking not required.
In celebration of Nottingham’s 800 caves, #CaveCity invites you to explore this mysterious terrain which has lain beneath the city for hundreds of years. With tours, talks, activities and experiences throughout the city, including some of the city's lesser known cave locations, please visit the Cave City: Nottingham Underground Festival page for a full list of events, or check out the festival itinerary to plan your weekend.
To follow all the subterranean happenings on social, use the tag #CaveCity!
