David Belbin - ‘Provenance’ new and collected short stories
David will talk about his new and collected short stories ‘Provenance’, which draws together twelve short stories previously published between 1989 and 2012 and five new pieces. David is best known for his many novels for Young Adults and, more recently, the Nottingham-set Bone and Cane sequence for adults. However, he began his career by publishing short stories for adults and has continued to do so, with work appearing in a wide variety of journals and anthologies. These include Heinemann's Best Short Stories of the Year' and Salt's 'Overheard: Stories to be read aloud.' This first collection of his stories for adults shows the range of his work. He will read one of his new stories, which deal with subjects such as middle age, infidelity and the internet.
David is the Chair of Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature, which is based at Bromley House, a part-time lecturer in Creative Writing at Nottingham Trent University and a trustee of Nottingham Playhouse.
