Bromley House Library Tours
FREE but spaces are limited so pre-booking is required (please select the 'Website' button to book)
A full guided tour of all floors of the library with an expanded history detailing key dates not only relating to the library but also the building. This tour includes collection highlights, stories from the past and present and the opportunity to talk about membership. This tour does involve a number of stairs, and at present we do not have a lift. COVID-19 - we ask that visitors wear a mask if you are able to and respect social distancing requirements where indicated.
Bromley House Library, founded in 1816, is a flourishing independent lending library situated in the centre of Nottingham and is one of the few remaining subscription libraries in the country. The building houses nearly 50,000 books and has a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. In addition to the many fine reading rooms spread over three floors of a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, there is a beautiful walled garden, which is one of only two remaining in the city centre.
The library is a great place to relax, read a book and meet friends over a cup of coffee or speciality tea. We welcome applications for membership and there are plenty of opportunities to visit us.
