One of the standout hits of the Edinburgh Fringe, Cello on Fire is a solo cello music show with ground-breaking Viennese cellist Peter Hudler – a hot mix of styles, genres and characters, from Baroque to Rock, from the simplest Folk tune to the most sophisticated Jazz gem.
Peter's lively playlist ranges from leading contemporary musicians, including John Zorn, Ernst Reijseger, Mark Summer and Svante Henryson; classical pieces by Bach, Debussy, dall'Abaco; and Jazz- and Folk-inspired music, including spectacular Crossover music by Giovanni Sollima. It all adds up to an entertaining and colourful night full of cello surprises.
Peter is a graduate of the Mozarteum Salzburg and has played in some of Austria's best orchestras including Camerata Salzburg and the Vienna State Opera and has been a soloist with several ensembles in Scandinavia.
