The UK regional premiere of the recent Broadway hit, written by the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Moonlight, Tarell Alvin McCraney.
Scholarship pupil Pharus isn't like the other boys at the prestigious Charles R Drew Prep School. He's outspoken, flamboyant and relentless in his pursuit of becoming the best choir leader in the school's history. But with resentment brewing in his classmates and Pharus continuing to push the boundaries, can he stay true to himself within the confines of school life?
A poignant and arresting coming-of-age story, Choir Boy is an exploration of class, sexuality, race and the determination of a young man trying to find his voice.
Directed by Nancy Medina (Two Trains Running), this stunning play is brought to life with a score of soaring gospel music.
Captioned, audio-described and sign-interpreted performances are available.
