Creswell Crags
Tickets: Free but must be pre-booked due to limited capacity
Creswell Crags is holding two Heritage Open Days and taking part in the Explore North Notts Weekend!
The Crags' Collections Officer will be leading a free behind-the-scenes tour of the collections store of the museum, an area the public don't usually get to see, as well as facilitating object handling to create a hands on experience.
The museum's collection is focused on prehistoric archaeology and palaeontology, much of it excavated from the site's limestone caves, so you will find out more about life here tens of thousands of years ago, when Ice Age man, hyenas and mammoths roamed the land. There will also be a chance to view the museum exhibition.
This will be followed by a short talk about the prehistoric hyenas who once hunted in this landscape.
Suitable for adults and older children. You can then go for a walk in the beautiful landscape, with a meadow, lake, and woodlands.
Tour and talk begin 11am
Pre-booking required - Tour and talk is free but must be pre-booked due to limited capacity. Outside space is free to explore.

Access
There are disabled parking spaces with level access to the main visitor centre. The exhibition space is fully accessible, with toilets on both floors and a lift between floors. The cafe is also fully accessible.
Please note that due to the natural nature of the site, the cave tours and woodland pathways that we offer alongside our exhibitions and talks are not fully accessible. Additionally, space is limited in the Collections Store so, although the access is level, there is not room for wheelchairs between the shelving units for the collections store tour.
