A fantastic summer family day in King Edward Park and Dance4's iC4C building opposite the park.

Performances, demonstrations, workshops, interactive activities, family walks, an inflatable Helter Skelter, Bouncy Castle and Soft Play fun and much more, all free for the whole family.

Dog Kennel Hill Project (UK)

The WIld Grass

Don’t miss the highlight performances of the day The Wild Grass, a fantastic spectacular synchronised dancing lawn mower extravaganza! he Sneinton and St. Ann’s communities shared ideas about Great Britain’s obsession with keeping lawns tidy and the importance of green spaces. Inspired by them, this fantastic outdoor spectacle performance that combines modern folk dance and social histories from within the local community.

Raffle

Be in with the chance of winning one of 5 petrol lawn mowers used as part of The Wild Grass performance, with other prizes including family pantomime tickets and much more.

JUMP

JUMP is a Leicester based group of Parkour athletes. Watch their incredible, risk taking demonstrations and join in with workshops which will help you jump, leap, roll and balance on park apparatus. Visit: jump.pk for more information.

Skate Nottingham

Join experienced leaders from Skate Nottingham and learn skateboarding skills during a morning ParkLife session, then come and join in with an afternoon of Skate competitions and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.

A slip and a slide

Explore the world of movement with Oksana Tyminska. Using sheets of stretchy fabric come and discover a world of moving of stretchiness both inside and out. Explore making live human sculptures outside in the park or the slippy slide world, inside Dance4’s studios. So which one will it be? A pull, slip and a slide? or a sculpture, stretch and a hide? You decide!

Street Dance Workshop

Join Gareth Woodward to learn some urban street dance styles and explore some creative ideas.

Dandiya Raas or Indian Stick Dance workshop

Come and enjoy traditional folk dance from Gujarat in India.  Traditionally performed outside by all members of the community to celebrate mother earth winning good over evil.

Bollywood Dance workshop

Bollywood dance is a style famous in Bollywood movies from Indian Cinema. Explore beautiful blend of Indian dance styles including classical, folk and modern styles.

Brazilian dance workshop

Join Brazilian dancer Aldemo Andrade in a workshop exploring traditional Brazilian expressive carnival dance.

Follow Us

Families are invited to take a walk through the park with choreographer Emma Lewis-Jones. This outdoor experience will ask you to playfully lead, follow and explore the park. Get to know your family and others better while being guided through different spaces.
