Join this talk to learn about the history of the Deaf Community in Nottingham. Who were the missioners? Where was Nottingham's first Deaf school? Who were the first people to stop the trams in Nottingham? - Based on a Heritage Lottery Project capturing the stories of Nottingham's elderly Deaf Community Mo Cooper will cover international, national and local changes in Deaf identity and Deaf politics.
A founder member of Nottingham Women's History Group and a member of HLF's East Midlands Committee, Mo is a local Community Historian who runs walks, talks and projects bringing history to life with honesty and humour.
Located in a 3 story Georgian Townhouse, please note that the building does not have a lift. Tickets £4 for Bromley House Library members and £5 for non members. Booking is essential. You can book by email, phone or in person.
