Disabled Access Day

About

Saturday 12 March 2016

Disabled Access Day is a national initiative created to raise awareness of the importance of access and encourage people to get out there and try something new. Venues across Nottingham are joining forces to offer a variety of accessible events, so you can make the most of your time in the city.

Join us for our open day, where there will be a range of activities from tours to talks, accessible for all. Drop in from 10 – 1pm to get an insight into how our productions are made, meet us, ask any questions and find out about our accessible services, or book yourself onto one of the activities below.

Backstage tours

Everything you see on stage in a production has usually been made here at the Playhouse. Find out how by taking a tour backstage.

Ramps on the Moon talk

11am- 11:30 am
Find out more about Ramps on the Moon, a ground-breaking touring project which signals a change in the UK’s disability arts provision. Bringing together six major theatres, alongside champions of accessibility; Graeae, it will change the way theatre made by and for Deaf and disabled people is seen. We are putting Deaf and disabled artists and audiences at the centre of our work; to accelerate positive change and stimulate awareness of disability issues within arts and culture.

The talk will be presented by Sharon Osbourne, Ramps on the Moon Project Administrator, signed in BSL and there will be a voice over, provided by interpreter Ali Green.

Book online, by calling Box Office on 0115 941 9419 or emailing access@nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk
