Photographs by Sir Paul Smith will be exhibited at Eastwood’s D.H Lawrence Heritage Centre this month, as part of a new Invitation Exhibition showcasing the work from local camera clubs.

Local photographer Eric Miller will host the fourth Invitation Exhibition at the Heritage Centre’s Rainbow Gallery, Mansfield Road from Friday 14 February until Sunday 30 March 2014.

The exhibition will present pictures from Sir Paul Smith, as well as other invited photographers and colleagues, following three previous exhibitions. Paul Smith’s theme for the exhibition is ‘Shadows’, and his work will be shown alongside camera clubs including  Beeston Camera Club, Eastwood PS and Rolls-Royce Derby PS.

Organiser Eric Miller, APAGB, said: “Presenting Exhibitions, selected by judges, during the time I was Federation Exhibition Secretary, gave me the experience to look for something a little different and led to the idea of inviting photographers to exhibit their work, some of which would not be accepted in some exhibitions, rather being a varied and diverse “must see” selection. To include pictures by Sir Paul Smith and fellow Photographers is a privilege.”

Admission is £2.90 per person, £2.60 for Broxtowe Leisure Card holders and free for D.H. Lawrence Annual Members.

D.H. Lawrence Heritage is a multi-award winning, two site visitor attractions in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, not far from junction 26 of the M1.  The attraction brings together a museum, heritage centre, gift shop, art gallery, meeting room facility and civil wedding venue.

D.H. Lawrence Heritage, which includes the D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre and the

D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday) from 10.00am until 4.00pm (5.00pm in summer). The Birthplace Museum opens at 11.00am with timed tours throughout the day beginning at 11.15am; spaces are limited so please call to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The D.H. Lawrence Bistro, at the Heritage Centre, is open between Tuesday and Saturday from 10.00am until 4.00pm, serving a selection of light refreshments and main meals.
