About

New Art Exchange
Tuesdays 2 November – 14 December 2021 | 4pm – 6pm
FREE | Ages 8–11

Explore Art Club is a weekly workshop for children who love art. The artist Ismail Khokon leads the sessions, taking inspiration from NAE's exciting exhibition programme. He is really supportive and inclusive in his approach.

Everybody gets a chance to learn new skills in a diverse range of styles, media and materials. Previous Explore members have enjoyed puppet-making, drawing, painting, model-making using card, ceramics and textile decoration, as well as animation and printmaking. There is a big emphasis on expressing your own creative ideas and being imaginative.

They also value discussions about art and like to explore the themes in the exhibitions. Members keep a record of all they create in sketch books that are then submitted for the Explore Arts Award. Its always a special occasion when the certificates arrive to be presented at an end of term display, with families and friends invited along to enjoy all the creativity on show and celebrate members' achievement.
