Nottingham Contemporary
Wednesday 2 – Wednesday 23 October 2019 | 10am – 12pm Weekly
£13 per session or £40 for all four sessions
Join Nottingham Contemporary's friendly, hands on group workshops to experiment with 'back to basics' creative approaches inspired by the Bauhaus art school including playing with lines, tone, colour and 3D forms.
Sessions begin informally with a chat over refreshments and all include a gallery visit and creative activity in our Studio supported by NC's associate artist. These workshops are a great way to explore the current exhibition, socialise with new people and develop creative skills, whether you're new to the gallery or a regular visitor.
Sessions are tailored for people aged 55+ though all adults welcome. No previous knowledge/experience necessary. Participants can attend one or more sessions in the series and can take their art work home.
Session One: Wednesday 2 October
LINES: Develop drawing skills exploring simple lines and making marks.
Session Two: Wednesday 9 October
TONE: Experiment with light and shade using charcoal and graphite sticks.
Session Three: Wednesday 16 October
COLOUR: Explore the use and meaning of colours using paints and pastels.
Session Four: Wednesday 23 October
FORM: Create 3D art pieces using card and paper. Share and display the art work the group has created throughout the sessions. Certificate presentation.
