Hanwell Wine Estate
Saturday 18 May 2019 | 10am - 4pm
£75
Fabulous foraging expert Richard Mawby will be joining Hanwell for a 3rd year of foraging at Hanwell Wine Estate. Ready to share his vast amount of knowledge, experience and information on the different edible plants, herbs, and foods the countryside has to offer. A fun and informative day, this is your chance to get back to nature, ask the expert and meet like minded people in this ‘Foraging in the Wild Workshop’.
Wander through the vineyard as Richard points out all the edible plants which could make a healthy addition to your diet. You’ll be encouraged to enjoy the pure and natural flavours of freshly harvested plants as Richard introduces unique flavours you can weave into your meals. By the end of the session, you should be able to confidently identify several edible wild plants and will go home with lots of ideas to try in your own kitchen.
Based in Northampton, Richard follows a primal ideal, reconnecting with nature and thriving on locally sourced wild animal products, foraged plants and raw goat’s milk. He explains: “Foraging is a great way to re-learn the connection we once had with the wild, to be at one with your surroundings, experience nature and to re-tune with your instincts. This workshop is a practical, hands-on approach to dining from nature’s pantry and the vineyard couldn’t be a more perfect location.”
