Every Saturday at 9am
Forest Recreation Ground outside the Pavilion
Free. Please note that registration is required before your first run
Why not start your Saturday with a difference by joining this free, 5k run around the Forest Recreation Ground every Saturday at 9am, followed by a hot drink or snack in the lovely Homemade Pavilion?
The course is 5000m (5K) long and is run on a mixture of tarmac paths, trail paths and grass, so please come dressed appropriately for weather conditions as it may be muddy after rain.
Route
Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place. The course is a two lap course around this large park and begins with a short tarmac section until runners head down onto the grass for a lap around the fields.
The route then takes a left turn and follows the path up towards Mansfield Road before turning right and following the paths around the top section of the Park through the trees. Runners then follow the path down towards the park and ride site and at the bottom of this path, take a right back onto the pavilion path. Runners then head down onto the grass at the same point as for the first lap and complete an additional lap. When running along the pavilion path for the second time, runners continue running past the Pavilion to the finish line.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.
