The Gauntleys cigar selection is overseen by Eann Wallace, who is well versed in the art of cigar production and smoking, which means he, along with the rest of the upstairs team can advise customers on that perfect cigar for that perfect moment. Gauntleys recently won the coveted national Retailer of the Year award from the Worshipful Company Of Tobacco Pipe Makers And Blenders in association with the AITS for their work on cigars. Eann is well travelled and has visited many of the famous cigar producing countries around the globe, including Cuba and Nicaragua to learn about the production and manufacturing processes of cigars.

Eann hosts, on a monthly basis, his now legendary cigar tasting evenings. These evenings are held at selected venues in and around Nottingham city centre, and have grown in stature over the years with attendances regularly reaching in excess of 30-40 people. The format for each evening is quite simple. The evenings commence at 7pm and are usually held on Wednesday evenings. Each paying guest will receive 2 cigars to sample on the evening. A little bit of information is given about each of the cigars to be tasted, but the evenings are all about relaxing in the company of like minded people in a warm, friendly environment and to gain a little knowledge. If you wish to gain a lot of knowledge all you have to do is ask lots of questions!
