Would you like to explore the outside world again? Have a chat with some new friends in a safe environment? If you are finding it hard to feel safe out and about, come and have a chat, do a bit of indoor archery and listen to John Florance talk about poetry that you grew up with. All whilst being in a safe 'bubble' all of your own.
If you're feeling nervous about being 'out out', why not join Carriages Café for these wonderful workshops, taking place in a safe and lovely environment to help you get used to enjoying being out again.
If you are:
Feeling nervous about the prospect of interacting with ‘real people’ again
Fearful of being in a public building
Worried or stressed about the future
Having trouble sleeping
Feeling generally unsettled
You are not alone! COVID-19 has challenged many people’s security, sense of control and wellbeing so returning to normal may not be without its causes for concern, particularly if you have been isolated for the entire lockdown period.
Getting back into the real world may look scary and be causing even more anxiety and keeping you from the things that you used to enjoy doing. Whilst they cannot promise you an exact return to your life before Covid, they can offer you a taste of what it used to feel like.
Newark Community Hub is offering nervous ‘escapees’ the opportunity to sample a little bit of freedom and a gentle return to life after COVID in a safe environment alongside a small number of other fellow sufferers. They are offering a way to begin the transition from isolation back into civilisation in the comfortable setting of Carriages Cafe.
Each course is approximately half a day with 3 x 1 hour workshops and includes your participation in a mixture of fun, interactive and passive sessions. Please arrive 15 minutes before.
Course 1 - Monday Morning 9am to 12.20pm
Tai Chi A gentle exercise which suits all fitness levels
Poetry from your childhood Brought to you by Dr John Florance, an old favourite at Carriages
