Gin tastings
Take a step back in time to the historic Malt Cross music hall where you will discover the wild and wonderful story of gin... Join the Malt Cross for a whistle-stop tour throughout history with tales of battles, kings and crime right through to the Malt Cross's gin palace era with a saucy music hall song or two. You'll learn to tell your genevers from your old toms whilst you taste your way through five different eras of gin alongside complementing tonics and fruit garnishes.
Beer tastings
Take a step back in time to the historic Malt Cross music hall where you will discover the wonderful, entertaining and downright tasty story of beer... Join the Malt Cross for a whistle-stop tour throughout history taking us from brewing in Ancient Babylonia to how hops, crops and royalty created the range of beers we all know and love today. You'll learn to tell your medieval gruit from London porters and spend an evening tasting five different iconic styles of beer paired with bar snacks.
1920s Speakeasy cocktails
Let the Malt Cross transport you back in time to 1925 where prohibition laws have banned the production and sale of alcohol in the USA... Join them underground and out of sight at the Malt Cross Speakeasy where there's a plentiful supply of bootlegged Giggle Water to keep you in fine spirits. Spend a swell evening led by one of the expert Heritage Tasting Guides where you'll learn how to make four different Prohibition cocktails, a little history and plenty of 1920s American slang! You'll need your own secret password to enter so hang onto your ticket and prepare yourself for a ritzy evening that'll be the bee's knees and perhaps even the cat's pyjamas.
These tastings take place in the Workshop, which is lift accessible.
