The Head of the Trent is a rowing race consisting of three processional time trials starting at 10:00, 12:30 and 14:30 from Clifton Bridge for eights and fours/quads. Each division has between 60 and 100 boats coming from clubs across the country and all racing to take the “headship”.

The best places to watch are the suspension bridge, the embankment and the rowing clubs. Hot drinks and food is available from the boat clubs throughout the day. Please note that there is no parking at the boat clubs for spectators – please use public transport (to Trent Bridge) if at all possible, the nearest parking is in West Bridgford, or along the embankment.
