The oldest and largest area of Victorian detached town gardens in the world! It is listed Grade 2* by English Heritage and covers 75 acres in the heart of the city.

Come and see us this September, lots to do and see!
Open gardens and guided tours – discover the history of the site
Refreshments, plants and produce for sale
Wildlife areas – relax with the birds and butterflies
Family-friendly – bring your little ones!
Celebrating Future Heritage – exploring tomorrow’s past today!

Site is hilly with steps to and from most gardens. Visitor Centre wheelchair accessible with limited disabled parking on same level. Please ring us to gain access to parking from Ransom Road entrance

Park along Ransom Road, site entrance next to Coppice Park. Buses no 42 to Ransom Road or 40,41 to Wells Road/ Ransom Road stop, or 45 Woodborough Road/ Ransom Road stop . There are various entrances to the site but only Ransom Road is open to the public
