Robin Hood – local legend and master of disguise – is bringing merriment to the streets of Nottingham this summer through a unique world-class sculpture trail. Scores of quirky Robin Hood sculptures have taken pride of place in the city from July to September 2018, creating an eye-catching trail through the city centre and neighbourhoods.
The trail brings together businesses, professional artists, schools and the community and will boost the economic, social and cultural life of the city. Ultimately, it will also raise awareness and funds for Nottinghamshire Hospice.
Hoodwinked: a twist on the tale is a modern-day take on the traditional stories of our mischievous outlaw outwitting the Sheriff of Nottingham with skills of camouflage and cunning. Hoodwinked sees Robin trying to outwit the Sheriff again. Robin Hood is everywhere . . . . . and apparently nowhere. The Robin Hoods are all in plain sight but masquerading in coats of many colours. Will the Sheriff spot him . . . . . or will he be Hoodwinked in this citywide game of hide and seek?
Some of the businesses supporting the trail are Nottingham Playhouse, The Cornerhouse, Castle Rock Brewery, Harts Hotel & Restaurant, Nottingham Forest Fooball Club, intu Victoria Centre, and intu Broadmarsh Centre.
Artists who've created the Robins include Nottingham contributors: grafitti artist Kid 30, Sarah Manton and Jessica Kemp of Curious?, the Nottingham Playhouse paintshop team, Hannah Money and many others. You can view this full list of artists contributing works to Hoodwinked by clicking here.
Download the Hoodwinked map here.
At the end of the trail the Robins will flock one more time at the home of Nottinghamshire Hospice for a fabulous farewell event from the 12 - 14 October 2018.
