Ann et Vin
Tickets £10
An evening of live jazz, great wines and conversation…
In aid of New Life Children’s Centre, The Gambia.
A musical collaboration between the Groove Merchants (guitar, bass, drums trio), Steve Rodda (guitar), Kit Dellow-Jones (Keys/Trumpet) and Newark’s own Matt Shephardson (vocals).
Three sets of live jazz, blues and big band classics – the perfect way to spend a Saturday evening, with friends.
About the event…
After chatting with Steve Watson (Cre8studios), Strays decided to ‘do something’ about the fact that babies in the Gambia have no access to hot water.
The Groove Merchants (Chris Green – guitar, Si Potts – Drums and Mat Short – bass guitars) will head up the music, with the addition of Steve Rodda (jazz guitar) – a regular musician performing at Stray’s. Another such muso is Kit Dellow-Jones who’ll be switching between keyboards and trumpet, depending on the song!
And headlining the gig is Newark’s own big-band supremo, vocalist Matt Shephardson. Matt regularly plays to sell-out audiences in and around Newark and as such, is the ideal man for the job. This collective will be playing three sets of jazz, blues, big band swing and lots in between and will be entertaining you from 8:30 until around 11:00, so lots of music!
Ann et Vin will, as always, be providing great wines, beers and soft drinks and of course, you are welcome to buy drinks for the band anytime throughout the night!
Tickets for this event are £12.50 and can be purchased physically form Ann et Vin (Castlegate), Cre8Studios (Middlegate) or of course, from the coffee bar at our place. Tickets are available NOW!
