“Do you know what we are mate? We are kings. We are something very bloody special indeed mate, very special and I don’t mean special bloody needs, I just mean special.”
A new play brimming with black humour, celebrating the strong friendships of a group of men living in a Nottingham hostel. One of the residents, Wayne, is finally moving into his own flat, forcing his friends to examine their own lives over Jaffa Cakes, Special Brew and a bit of a sing song.
Kings by Nottingham-born playwright, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, bursts with the energy of the chaotic lives lived by the group and shows how friendship and dignity can thrive in the most unexpected places.
Warning: contains Bonnie Tyler and papier mache.
