Kuksa Carving Workshop
Take carving to another level and enjoy the unique and satisfying experience learning to craft your own Swedish Kuksa cup, all in the beautiful surroundings of Hanwell Wine Estate. Martin your tutor will share with you his years of carving experience and knowledge of tools and materials to use. You will learn a range of cutting and carving techniques using an axe, knife and how to hollow the Kuksa safely and efficiently.
By the end of the day you will have completed your very own Kuksa cup and mastered the basic skills sufficiently to be able to practice on your own.
All materials and tools are provided along with refreshments throughout the day and a two-course homemade lunch served with a glass of wine.
Outline of the day
9:40 | Welcome with light refreshments
9:45 | Introduction to your tutor, tools and health and safety; get hands on with your tools
11:00 | Refreshment break
12.30 | Lunch break – 2 course homemade lunch with a glass of local wine
13.15 | Short talk and walk around the vineyard weather permitted; continue with your creation
14.30 | Light refreshments served with cake
16:15 | Leave with your beautiful wooden Kuksa!
