Magic of the Opera starring Lesley Garrett - CANCELLED

Sunday 23 July 2017

Popular opera singer Lesley Garrett will star in ‘Magic of the Opera’ at Wollaton Park on Sunday 23rd July – the day after Splendour - making a whole weekend of music for all tastes in this beautiful setting.

The show, which will also feature the English National Philharmonic Orchestra and principal singers from the Royal Opera House and English National Opera, is presented by the newly formed Nottingham theatre production company, UK Theatre Bureau, in association with Nottingham City Council.  The orchestra will be conducted by Ben Crick and the singers will include John Cunningham (Baritone), Hannah Mason (Mezzo Soprano) and Lee Bradley (Tenor).

‘Magic of the Opera’ is a show for all the family and will feature all the best ‘bits’ from all the popular operas, including many that that everybody knows but probably don’t realise are opera.  Whether they’re a lover of Grand Opera or a lover of grand songs, performed to the highest possible level, everyone will enjoy an afternoon of magical music.  The show will contain favourites including the Toreador song from Carmen, Mozart’s Marriage Of Figaro, Time To Say Goodbye, Verdi’s Anvil Chorus, the Pearl Fishers duet, Ave Maria and, of course, Nessun Dorma.

This will be an experience to remember for those who’ve already been to one of the great opera houses of the world, for anyone whose experience of opera is limited to what they’ve heard on a television advert and for everyone in between.

Tickets are priced at £39 each, £80 for a family of 2 adults and up to 3 children under 16 or £100 for a friends group ticket (4 people). They are available from the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Box Office in person, via 0115 9895555 and online

The show starts at 4.30pm with doors opening at 2pm for people to enjoy the food, drink and beautiful grounds.
